“CREATE
a life of personal value
and become more
VALUABLE
to the world.“
Why are people ashamed to show
their real inner selves?
The INNER SELF is just about what it sounds like, who you really are inside. To know your inner self is to know your purpose, values, vision, goals, motivations, and beliefs. Really knowing your inner self requires a high level of looking inside and self-awareness. The majority of people keep their INNER SELF hidden because they failed to meet certain EXPECTATIONS they envisioned for themselves, or they feel that others put EXPECTATIONS on them they cannot fulfill. Hiding everything inside, they start looking for validation.
Why are people ashamed to show
their real inner selves?
Many people are ashamed of their values, motivations, and beliefs because:
- Between early childhood thru adolescence their environment, thoughts, and values didn’t line up with their current reality.
- We put up our defenses to shield us from what hurt us in the past, developing a pattern of self sabotage and bad habits that can follow us through our lifetime.
- Self Inflicted anxiety causes critical disruptions in the movement of life forward or backward. Not meeting expectations can cause physical reactions such as chills, perspiration, or loud outbursts.
- Feeling guilty about the past we act out against it. Making a decision to live in the present and not the past is a great way to move forward in life and to advance your circle of influence.
- Getting something we want can remind us of something we didn’t have in the past or don’t have in the present. It’s a natural feeling of wanting more. No one can tell us what we truly want or need.
“BEHAVIOR
is mostly influenced.“
Don’t go it alone, seek mentorship. Look for self-help books and join focus groups. Recognize patterns and find active ways to disassociate from negative influences from the past and in the present.
