The hidden power of
MUSIC
is a mood booster.

What is the power of singing?

Music has a special power to instantly release mood-building endorphins to the brain. Music is considered a valid therapy to potentially reduce depression and anxiety. Music improves mood, self-esteem, and quality of life. Music has been reported to have no negative effects, except maybe when it is too loud. Music has the power to manipulate our feelings in a unique way. Emotions like laughter, chills, sorrow and even insight, are all part of the musical experience. Positive responses dominate when listening to music. Music makes our brain release dopamine, stimulating a pleasurable response, similar to legal and illegal drugs. The right balance of dopamine is vital for both physical and mental well-being. Studies have shown that music causes a 26% increases in blood flow, similar to aerobic exercises. Laughter has a 19% increase and sexual relations has an 11% increase in blood flow. Singing makes us all feel good. Singing is a natural mood booster. When we sing, we release endorphins, making us happy, while promoting smiles, laughter, and positive feelings. When we sing with other people, it makes us even happier and more joyful. Group singing also releases oxytocin, a bonding hormone.

What is the power of giving?

The power of giving is about providing resources, education, money, love, wisdom, emotional support, caring, and sometimes just listening and being there for a person. The power of giving is a powerful gift, not only for the receiver but for the giver as well. Giving advice, education or wisdom makes us more accountable and forces us to organize our philosophies, thoughts, and habits. Giving to others has proven to decrease blood pressure and reduce stress. Have you ever heard of a person stressed out while giving? Having a pet has also been shown to reduce all types of stress and anxiety. Why? Because the owner constantly gives love and care to their pet. Many people are afraid to give to others because they lack trust and faith in them. Try to learn to trust others by giving. In doing so, we can boost our own emotional intelligence skills so that we can improve socialization and collaboration with those around us. Remember that ‘teamwork makes the dream work’ and ‘there is strength in numbers’.
